OK Clay… deep breaths… calm down. Although I’m nowhere near a fan of Game Informer, I am VERY much wanting to read the new one. It has details on Mass Effect 3. Those of you regulars around here should know by now that I’m a HUGE Mass Effect fan. So, here we go. From an article on Joystiq, and them referencing a GameFAQs post on the subject… here is what we know so far… *SPOILER ALERT*
-No multiplayer. Say what you want, the other 2 didn’t have it either, and they were great. No loss in my book.
-The game will start Shepard out on Earth, on trial after the events from “The Arrival” DLC (which I haven’t played yet…) During all of this, Boom… Reaper invasion. You will spend some time fighting back to the Normandy, go get a crew, fight Reapers.
-The game will include the PS3 comic system for those of you heathens who haven’t played 1 or 2 and are starting on 3.
-The Illusive Man will play a big role. Apparantly he and Cerberus are wanting to kill Shepard… I kinda saw that coming. Cerberus are assholes like that.
-You will see appearances by Captain Anderson, and if they survived, Wrex, Mordin Solus, and Legion.
-Also in the category of “if they are still alive,” possible squadmates are: Ashley/Kaiden and Garrus. Additional squadmates are Liara and newcomer James Sanders (possible relation to Kahlee Sanders? She’s the main chick from the books.)
-Numerous endings… I will see them ALL!
-The game will revert back to its more RPG roots of the first game… but without all of the item micromanagement. Ability trees will be bigger, and you will have more choices on how to evolve powers.
-All classes will be able to use all weapons. No more “getting shafted with a weak-ass SMG with my Engineer” this time around. The difference between classes will be how many weapons you can carry at the same time.
OK… I’m good. I can hold out a few more months.
