According to the new bill S.978m currently being introduced in the US Senate, people like us Nerd Junkies might not be allowed to stream games anymore. Well, it covers more than that. The bill could put an end to all reproductions of copywrited material on the internet. That means game streaming, game footage, even the guy who rocks at Mario music on a kazoo could be put to an end. Let’s hope this doesn’t pass.
*UPDATE*
According to an article on Joystiq, this might not be as bad as is being reported. The fine print would be that this doesn’t matter as long as the streamer isn’t charging for their streams, or don’t make over $2500 for displaying copywrited material. I don’t know about youall, but I don’t plan on paying to see someone play WoW anytime soon…
