We briefly stopped by Turtle Beach’s booth while at CES this year. We were pre-prepared for an onslaught of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 footage and promotions for their headset tie-ins. Luckily, this wasn’t the case. We spent a few minutes, and listened to a few trailers they had playing (including the amazing Assassin’s Creed Revelations trailer from E3) and were very impressed with what we heard. The headsets are comfortable to wear, as the earmuffs fit over and around the ear, not pressing down on your ears like others do.
They had clear surround sound, and were very capable of handling the volume levels we raised them to. If we had any complaint at all about these, it would be the $250 pricetag for the X500 wireless series. I guess I just can’t justify that kind of price for a headset.
